Join our team

Our community is made up of both residential and off-site team members and when we have vacancies we advertise them below.

The Greenhouse Christian Centre is a non-denominational Christian trust with a vision of ‘Growing Christian disciples, active in church and community’. We provide welcome and hospitality to all guests, whether staying residentially or visiting for the day, and provide a meeting place for local Christians and churches to get together.

Applicants need to be in sympathy with the Christian ethos and culture of the charity and committed to the charitable aim of the trust to ‘advance the Christian faith’.

For more information please feel free to contact Mark Strand by emailing directly on [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you!

Do you enjoy the challenge of raising funds? Do you have experience of fundraising and wish to join the team in our exciting journey of faith? In order to better deliver the centre’s vision we need to raise a considerable sum of money to refurbish and improve what we offer. We need someone with fundraising experience to help us form a fundraising strategy and advise in its implementation. This is a voluntary role and would suit someone who has experience, time and a desire to see lives transformed through residential Christian ministry. Any expenses incurred including travel expenses would be reimbursed.
Maintenance Volunteers
Keeping on top of maintenance with an older building is a challenge and our maintenance man could really do with some help! Even a few hours a month would make a big difference. An aptitude for DIY is helpful but no specific experience/skill set is required.

Volunteers need to be in sympathy with the Christian ethos of the centre and committed to the charitable aim of the trust to ‘advance the Christian faith’.

Residential/Non-Residential Volunteers

Do you want to be part of a Christian community serving others? Maybe you'd like to improve your English, or get experience in the hospitality industry? We have a vacancy for a resident volunteer to work 25-30 hours per week in exchange for meals and accommodation. You will need to be a committed Christian seeking to grow in your relationship with God. The role will include helping in the kitchens, on housekeeping and in the grounds. It will involve weekend work.

We are also happy to receive applications from local people willing to volunteer as much or as little time as they are able across all departments - we love our volunteers!

Pastoral Team

Here at The Greenhouse we find it a privilege to walk alongside our guests as they journey with the Saviour. Although we don't offer deep prayer counselling, we do provide time and space for people to meet with God. Working under the direction of the leadership team, we have a growing group of pastorally-hearted people who volunteer a day a month or more to be on hand to lead chapel services, to offer a listening ear and to pray with our guests. Do you feel this is something you could do?

Email or call us on 01202 764776 to arrange an informal interview and to come and see the Pastoral Team in action.
