Life can be a struggle following the loss of a loved one or friend, and it is widely acknowledged that death by suicide can be one of the most difficult bereavements to cope with. This can be as true for a Christian as for anyone else.
Loss in this way is so sudden; your life changes dramatically from one moment to the next. There is so much left unsaid and undone; there is so much room for “what if’s” and “if only’s” and self-questioning.

This Living with Loss supportive retreat is for those who are grieving the loss of a family member, partner or close friend as a result of suicide. This may have been a long time ago or it may have been recent.

On the retreat, Abi will help you take a look at loss and grief from a gentle Christian perspective, acknowledging with sensitivity the mixture of feelings and questions that you may be facing, relationship through memory with your loved one, and exploring how to find a way forward in the changed circumstances of your life. The weekend will have a varied programme, with all activities optional and confidential, including led sessions, time for quiet reflection, creative activities and moderated discussions.

The retreat will be small, with a maximum of 12 participants. (18-20th Jan) and is open to those aged 18 and over. The retreat is open to those of any faith or none, although you should be aware that there is Christian content in the programme.  Suicide is a sensitive and complex subject. We will not have open discussions related to actual details of suicide.  The retreat leaders will be available for individual prayer.
